Non-urgent scripts

For all non-urgent, continuing, initial and switch scripts, please email scripts to approvals@pbsauthority.com.au or fax the scripts to 1300 916 096 (with a cover page – indicating your clinic).

Once we have reviewed them, continuing scripts can be instantly approved by tapping or clicking “request authority” in either the mobile or desktop SAM app.

For non-urgent initial and switch scripts our team will process these through HPOS on the prescriber's behalf.

Urgent scripts

For any urgent scripts please immediately email or fax the scripts through to the SAM team. Once you have sent us the script, please call your SAM delegate on (02) 90030577, 8am to 5pm, to ensure the script is processed as soon as possible.

For initial and switch scripts we will provide you with a reference number. Once you have received this reference number the prescriber can then call Medicare to request approval. For urgent continuing scripts we can provide instant approval, just tap or click “request authority” in the mobile or desktop SAM app.

Saving passwords

We recommend the use of Autofill while using the SAM mobile app. For iPhone and iPad: open Settings > Passwords > AutoFill Passwords > turn on AutoFill Passwords >turn on iCloud Keychain if you haven’t already (Settings > your name > Cloud > Keychain).

Now you’ll be able to save and AutoFill passwords on the web and in apps, look for the prompt at the bottom of your iPhone when tapping on a password field. For Android users: open your device’s Settings app on your Android phone or tablet > Google > Google Account > At the top, scroll right and tap Security > Scroll down to "Signing into other sites" and tap Saved Passwords > then turn Auto sign-in on. Once you have completed these steps you will be able to automatically sign into the SAM app.
